Camp Veritas rents space from existing facilities owned by other organizations. Camp Veritas has two locations: the Camp Lakota facility in Wurtsboro, New York; and the Thornwood facility in Thornwood, New York. The map at the bottom of this page shows the two locations with respect to one another.
The Camp Lakota site for Camp Veritas is located at 56 Park Road, Wurtsboro, NY, 12790. This is 80 miles North of New York City and 55 miles West of Poughkeepsie.
The Thornwood site for Camp Veritas is located at 582 Columbus Avenue, Thornwood, NY, 10594. This is 35 miles North of New York City and 55 miles South of Poughkeepsie.
For specific driving directions, including mileage, go to MapQuest at www.mapquest.com . Then use your home address as the "Starting Location" and the camp address as the "Ending Location". (Note: make sure you select the right address for the camp you are attending!) You can also use a GPS device.
You will find it helpful to download, view, and print the general directions to the Camp Veritas site your child is attending. These directions include some additional information such as phone numbers, details for the last few miles to the Camp Lakota site, and an image of the sign showing the entrance to the Thornwood site. Note: you can also travel by train to the Thornwood site. Use the Metro-North Harlem Line from Grand Central Station to the Pleasantville Station. From there, take a taxi for the last couple of miles.
